Spellbound Styled Shoot
When Taylor from The Floral Eclectic approached me about working on a styled shoot together, I was ALL IN. With a witch and her apothecary at the center of this design, we broke the mold of what a classic cheesy halloween themed photoshoot could look like and leaned more into this witch’s backstory and desires. Styled Shoots tend give way to untamed creativity that may otherwise be limited to a client’s desires. With a team that collectively wants to stretch their creative muscles and break out of their comfort zones, passion was overflowing on set. With a mix of thrifted and sourced props we brought the apothecary to life in this small studio. The use of food coloring, dry ice, and lots of artificial moss played a key piece into bringing life the potions and enchantments.
The tablescape complimented The Floral Eclectic’s arrangements, including bright and deep colors, plenty of unique texture, and Venus fly traps that really brought the table to “life”. The use of texture was key in every item that we sourced to emphasize the “lived in” but curated witch’s workshop. Black dinnerware and gold accents framed the lethal confections that we have to warn you to eat at your own risk.
This was one of the best photoshoot experiences as an event planner who strives to bring passion and new ideas to every single project. Every prop and piece were hand chosen to elevate the story, and every vendor worked intently to convey the emotion of this lonely spell master’s life and aesthetic.
